I am preparing a new substantial post for the blog which will appear here in a couple of days.  I just wanted to get in now with a quick post to mention that the blog software has been changed again.  As some of you noticed and pointed out to me by email, the comments section of the old blog sent people into an endless loop and never actually posted the comment.  Tried to sort it out but it didn’t want to work so I threw it out and started again.

I must say I quite like this layout, so thanks to the Ghost at WWW.PATTAYAGHOST.COM who unknowingly introduced me to this software.  Sadly, the Ghost has hung up his blogging hat although if you are quick you can still read his old posts at the above address.  This blog will never be as rich in content as his was but will, I promise, continue for some considerable time.

Anyway, the major point of this post is to point out that comments will now work and I really do like to get feedback on the Beer Garden.  Good or bad comments are fine, I just like to know what our customers are thinking, what they like and what they don’t like.  So please feel free to add your own comments anytime to any of the posts here.

Pete

I think your new format is great.I will be returning to Pattaya in February, and will be stopping by for my second visit to PBG.
Kudos to your comment about Ghost.

My own opinion is that you used to have an attractive site, with the pic of the bar ar the top. Now you’ve down-graded to something that looks plain and ordinary. Still, it’s the content wot counts, in’it.

Barry, I hope to put the picture back sometime soon. The software allows it, I just have to figure out how to do it :-)

I don’t have a problem with the look of this site, but would like to see more updates on the PBG posted here.

The last time I was in town PBG was not open yet, I look forward to visiting in late November.

Glad I could help you find a template you like. Funny how many people like this one. But there are lots of other great templates out there too!

Good luck and see you at PBG.

About a month or so ago, I was at the garden for dinner. I go to your place about three times per week, if not for dinner, at least for a couple of glasses of “Why dang”, red wine.

Let me get back on subject. On the night I was there, I looked up to see my food order being brought to me by a waitress – who was sneezing, coughing, wiping her nose, and then repeating all actions, directly above and into my soon to be served meal! Once she got it to me, I spoke to her and asked if she was sick. She could hardly answer me due to her bronchial infection. I told her she should go home as she was definitely sick, and could just infect her co-workers and customers.

“I not work, I not get money.”

In an incredible bit of stupidity, I actually ate the above described meal. Truly one of the dumbest things I have ever done. Even now I cannot fathom why I did it. And then in the normal incubation time for such infections, I ended up SICK, sick mak mak. Other than to go to International Hospital for a regime of injections, enough prescriptions to start a pharmacy, and then repeat the entire procedure, I did not leave my condo for two full weeks. I have had the flu before, but this was of another order entirely.

Today, I am still not fully recovered. Short of breath, constant coughing, and assorted other symptoms which just seem to not go away.

Now, can I tell you definitely that I got this from your waitress? No. Like proving there is no Santa Claus. Cannot be done. However, the coughing, sneezing, wheezing into my plate, and the incubation time all match up. My guess is that the waitress probably infected scores of your customers.

AND THEN CAME LAST NIGHT (Nov. 11). Ordered the meat loaf dinner. Slow to arrive, but very tasty. I am sitting there looking and almost fell off my bar stool. You had a waitress working who was so sick she actually was walking around with a napkin in her hand, constantly wiping her over flowing nose. Voice was all but inaudible. I felt her forehead, definite fever. “You are sick, why you not go home?” And the same old answer, “No work, no money.”

Peter, this lady was major league infectious, and she was handing people’s food and drink. TWO TIMES THE SAME THING WITH DIFFERENT STAFF IN TWO VISITS!I know that Thai staffs can drive a manager nuts with lack of reliability in attendance and other matters we take for granted back in the western world. They would probably misuse a sick leave program, but you simply MUST do something about this matter.

I will be back, you have a good place. However, should I speak to or be waited on by another “Typhoid Mary” walking infection factory, I will simply return my wine and/or dinner and leave.

Please do something here. You cannot have people this sick handling your customers’ orders.

Again, you have a good place. Very much enjoy it and visit both alone and with friends. Have taken a number of freelancers there just to introduce them to the place. Will continue to do so, but I cannot tolerate being serviced by staff who are sick, infectiously so.

Thanks for taking the time to get this far.
